The V-series nameplate has been on almost every new Cadillac that has come to market. Like AMG or M it has become the calling card for the Cadillac name. A sub-brand that enthusiast lust after.
Yet when the pricing was released for the Cadillac CT6 it left a lot of people wondering. What exactly is Cadillac aiming for with the CT6? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! than the CTS there could be a legitimate worry that the CT6 is going to hurt CTS sales. Is it possible that it could hurt CTS-V sales as well if Cadillac makes a performance model?
Like most new cars the Cadillac CT6 has been seen !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Does that mean the car will be sold with a performance model V-series? Or like the DTS and XTS will the CT6 be a traditional land yacht marketed at an older generation?
Cadillac’s marketing strategy with the CT6 is still a little unclear, it seems the CT6 will be a similar to the value packed STS and previous generation CTS. One was an oversized 3 series fighter and another was an oversized 5 series fighters marketed at a lower price. Is the Cadillac CT6 going to be a model that hits above it’s weight class as well and aim for a 7 series at a 5 series price?
If it will be a 7 series/ S-class fighter can we expect to see no performance model like BMW does? Or will we see a V-Series fighter to compete with the AMG S63?

You know, I really don’t think they should do a V version. At some point, physics catches up to you, and trying to make a track monster out of your big sedan sounds silly. Besides, I doubt there would be much of a market for it.

I hope not. Cadillac is known for huge, ponderous luxocruisers, and it should stay that way.

Only time will tell. Something tells me the CT6 will stay all luxury and no sport. But I could be wrong

There might not be a huge market but I bet there is a huge profit margin.

We never saw an XTS-V to follow the STS-V, only a V-Sport. That’s probably as far as the CT6 will go; I think Cadillac is going to be paying more attention to making plush cars now instead of the sporty ones that they’ve been pushing for the last few years, as they need to show that they’re capable of focusing on both at the same time to attract new demographics and retain their traditional ones.
